1. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Booking a consultation: parent or student name, email, phone number, the student’s grade, and anything you write in the booking notes.
  • Contacting us, registering for a webinar or downloading a guide: your name, email and message.
  • Buying a package: your name, billing details and email. Card and wallet details are entered with Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • During counseling: information about the student that you choose to share, such as grades, test scores, activities, essays, college preferences and financial aid details.

Information collected automatically

  • Pages visited, links clicked, device and browser type, approximate location based on IP address, and how you arrived at the site.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps through Microsoft Clarity, which record mouse movement, clicks and scrolling on our pages.
  • Advertising signals through Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, which tell Google and Meta that you visited our site or booked a call, so we can measure and show our ads.

2. How we use it

  • To run consultations and counseling, including scheduling, reminders and Google Meet links.
  • To process payments and send receipts.
  • To send emails you asked for, and updates about your service. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To measure and show our advertising on Google and Meta.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

We do not sell student counseling information, and we never use it for advertising.

We share information only with the services that help us run Dream College Path:

  • Amelia and Google Meet: scheduling and video consultations
  • Stripe (including Link, Klarna, Affirm and Amazon Pay): payments
  • FunnelKit and our email delivery service: emails and reminders
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: site analytics
  • Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps
  • Google Ads and Meta: ad measurement and targeting
  • Our hosting provider: running the website

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.

4. Students and children

Our service is for families of students in Grades 8 to 12. A parent or guardian books and manages the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information without a parent’s consent, email info@dreamcollegepath.com and we will delete it.

5. Parent and guardian access

Parents and guardians can ask to see, correct or delete their child’s information at any time. Email info@dreamcollegepath.com and we will reply within 45 days.

6. How long we keep it

We keep counseling records for as long as we are working with your family and for a reasonable time after the student’s last application cycle. We keep booking and payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. After that we delete or anonymize the information.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working, understand how it is used, and measure our ads. Our Cookie Policy lists each tool and how to switch it off.

8. Security

The site uses HTTPS. Access to student information is limited to the counselors and staff who need it. No system is fully secure, so please tell us right away if you think your information has been exposed.

9. Your rights and choices

  • Ads: you can turn off personalized ads in your Google account ad settings and your Facebook ad preferences, block cookies in your browser, or email us and we will stop sharing your information with our ad partners.
  • California residents have the right to know what we collect, and to delete it, correct it, and opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. Our use of Google and Meta advertising tools may count as “sharing” under California law. To opt out, email info@dreamcollegepath.com.
  • Residents of other US states with privacy laws have similar rights.
  • To make a request, email info@dreamcollegepath.com. We will confirm your identity and reply within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
